In 2002 Brad Shaffer founded Parallax Ventures and melded Shaffer Consulting Group into this new firm. Although the company’s headquarters have moved from Southern California to Asheville, North Carolina, we continue our long-term relationship with staff in Southern California and maintain an on-going affiliation with Moyer Sherwood Associates of New York City.

In addition to the retained executive search practice, we now also offer powerful, effective and complimentary programs and services in the areas of executive assimilation, and executive and team coaching. These additional services are a direct outgrowth of the firm’s twenty years of retained executive search and a commitment to providing our clients with ever-increasing added value. The identification and recruitment of talent is merely one aspect of the executive search process. Ideally, an organization adding executive talent will undertake a process involving three distinct phases: acquisition, assimilation and on-going professional development of the hired executive. Brad and his family made the decision in mid 2002 to leave Southern California and relocate to Asheville in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. This move was coincident with Brad’s founding of Parallax Ventures and expanding what has been the traditional business of retained executive search offered by Shaffer Consulting Group.
